ES Staff April Cropped.jpg

Tamara is a soon to be empty nester, single mom of 4 girls, with a heart for serving others. She loves to cook, write, sing, and recently discovered that she enjoys hiking and the serene beauty of nature that comes along with it.

Tamara grew up in Dublin, California, but has loved living in the beautiful Northwest now for 22 years. Since the age of 18, Tamara has served her community as a Caregiver for the elderly, a Preschool Teacher, Support Staff for a homeless shelter and a Mentor for Teen Moms. Her philosophy is to help others with a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”.

Tamara’s passion to make a difference in the lives of others shines through her words, her work, and her heart for the Lord!

Angela is a blessed mother of three daughters; only one still lives at home with her in Oregon city along with their five cats.  She has lovingly been deemed the crazy cat woman. While at home, she loves gardening and building/creating things.

Angela loves Jesus and allows the Holy Spirit to work through her life, home and within her community.  She loves people well and is always eager to give a “Jesus infused hug.”

Pre-Covid, she was very active in the church body and since the shutdown, she has felt the same need  to reach out to her community in other ways.  She has always been one to speak up for those with a small or muted voice.  Since she was just 14 years old, the house-less addict/alcoholic has a special pull on her heart.  Several winters back, she opened and ran a winter warming shelter for the local community of these individuals.  Still to this day, she does local outreach.

Angela loves being outdoors in nature, whether it be hiking, backpacking, camping, or paddle boarding.  She’s often able to be found on the river with her family, if not on another adventure.  If you want to go, just ask her, she’d love for you to join.

As the hiring manager, Angela can make positive changes and influence on people’s lives.  We are excited to see what Holy Spirit is going to do through her next.

April is a wife and mother to three young kids (5, 4 and 2), who grew up in Newberg.

She graduated from George Fox University in 2002 with an interdisciplinary degree in psychology, fitness management and Christian Ministries.

April brings varied work experience including time in payroll, administration, and logistics. She plans to home-school her kids and loves being outdoors in nature whenever possible.

Hobbies include gardening, cooking, and listening to good podcasts or books on Audible. Her motto is to never stop learning!

ES Staff Micah Cropped.jpg

Like John, Micah started working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in high school, as a teachers aide. Years later, as a caregiver, Micah observed the sometimes tragic ways that the people we serve can fall through the cracks and end up in prison, homeless, or worse.

This led Micah to the Oregon Youth Authority, where he worked with young people with developmental disabilities on suicide watch and in high-security environments. Through his work with OYA, Micah became aware that part of the problem of routing support to the people that need it, happens in the bureaucratic processes we rely on. This led Micah to begin working with the eligibility system for the Department of Human Services.

After seeing how the sausage is made in  social services eligibility, Micah returned to the private sector where he supports care-giving organizations in various ways.
